Diane Machcinski, MEd, RD
Winner of the California Dietetic Association Dolores Nyhus Outstanding Achievement 2010, the highest award given to a California dietitian for outstanding contributions to the field.
She earned degrees from Ohio’s University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University. Her experiences include 29 years private practice, and chief clinical dietitian. Diane was past Chair of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Coding and Coverage Committee. She has extensive billing experience including Medicare, IPA, San Diego County experience with enhanced Medicaid services for pregnant women and running a $2 million dollar child insurance program. She has been a Medicare provider since inception 2001 and has reported on the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and successfully received reimbursement incentives. She has been a provider for Health Net and Vantage Medical Group, Blue Shield PPO and Promise Medi-Cal, and Veterans Administration Choice Program.

Michele Chynoweth, RD, CDE
Michele is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Coordinated Program in Dietetics. She is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) with Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education for 25 plus years. She has been involved in private practice in nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management training/education/support for 25 plus years. She developed an in-house diabetes and pregnancy program, including data outcomes management. She was part of the faculty in diabetes education and marketing seminars. She has offered workshops and consulting in reimbursement, private practice and community nutrition. She has been a provider for Medicare, Veterans Administration Choice Program, and one of the county employees’ health insurance programs. She served as Policy Advocacy Leader (PAL) for Diabetes Care and Education Practice Group 2013-15, reimbursement and public policy chair for Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group for 2008-10. She was a member of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Legislative and Public Policy Committee and was appointed liaison to Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Codes and Coverage Committee. Co-chaired California Reimbursement Committee 1998-2000 and Central Valley District dietetic association reimbursement representative. She is a past Nutrition Services Payment Specialist (NSPS) for Diabetes Care and Education Dietetic Practice Group and member of Academy work group for Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program. She precepts dietetic interns for their rotation on public policy, consulting and reimbursement.
